MIDI input

Connect your keyboard before opening the input controls. Choose MIDI and allow browser access when prompted. If the browser does not offer MIDI, try another supported browser or use the account-free keyboard sample. Device support depends on your browser and operating system.

Microphone input

Allow microphone access and play one clear note at a time in a quiet room. This captures estimated note events, not an original-audio recording. Chords and background sound can produce unreliable results.

Importing a score

The studio accepts MIDI, MusicXML and compressed MusicXML (MXL). Audio files such as WAV are not sheet music. If an import fails, check the format and try a shorter, simpler score you have permission to use.

Saving and recovery

A completed non-empty take is saved separately from AI feedback. “Unsynced” means the take remains on this browser but has not reached your account. Open the studio’s saved-takes list and retry after signing in or reconnecting. Clearing browser data removes device-only copies.

Understanding a result

Matched notes require the expected pitch within the timing window. Missed and extra notes reduce accuracy. “Insufficient evidence” means a meaningful comparison could not be made. Historical count-based results are labelled legacy.
